Mundingburra Music Mates
Music Mates is a long-established sub-group of the P&C which provides parental support to the Instrumental Coordinator and all Instrumental Teachers at Mundingburra.
Music Mates provide volunteer support at concerts/excursions of all types, help formulate music policy, assist with decision-making along with fund-raising to provide instruments/repairs and other musical aids and equipment.
The major fundraising is via ‘icy cups’ which are sold on Friday afternoons. All these funds come to Music Mates. Each music family is asked to contribute one 2 litre bottle of cordial which will be used to make icy cups each term. The flavours used are red, green and black (sars). Bottles can be left at the tuckshop.
Mundingburra Music Mates usually meet on the third Monday each term. The meetings commence at 6.00 pm in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC). Our Principal and our Music Teacher attend nearly all meetings. These meetings are a great way to become involved in your child’s musical education and to stay informed with what is happening.
Music Mates fund all the school instrument purchases from their fund-raising efforts and because of this we have a very well resourced music program that provides our children with quality instruments.
