Reef Guardian Program
Mundingburra State School is proud to be a member of the Reef Guardian Program. This program is run by our environmental committee.
A key objective of the Reef Guardian Schools program is to create awareness, understanding and appreciation for the Reef and its connected ecosystems.
This includes environmental and sustainability projects within their classrooms, their school grounds and local areas such as native habitat revegetation, cleaning up beaches and recycling. Our activities include (but are not limited) to the following:
- School litter clean ups, Waste audits
- Solar panels (H Block)
- Reducing waste & water
- Reusing waste, Recycling waste,
- Encouraging Package-free lunches
- Vegetable garden/ Composting food scraps
